In recognition of its 24 years of dedicated commitment to helping the abused and neglected children of Richland County, the USC Law Pro Bono Program recently received the 2013 Community Spirit Award from the Richland County CASA Foundation.
Over the years many law students have served as volunteer guardians ad litem where they represent the best interests of the child. Pro Bono Program Director Pamela Robinson said, “This is a win-win-win relationship. Richland County CASA gets energetic and enthusiastic volunteers, law students gain valuable real world experience, and best of all, children receive representation from those who truly want to help.”
The Award presentation was made at the Annual Champions for Children Luncheon on October 23. Third-year student and Pro Bono Program Board Member Donna Tillis accepted the Award on behalf of all law student guardians ad litem.
