One Minute Brief – Fall 2013

Learning from the best
Professor Susan Kuo was one of only 26 law school faculty members selected nationally to be featured in the new book, “What the Best Law Teachers Do,” published by Harvard University Press.

New approach to LRAW
Since becoming the head of the law school, Dean Rob Wilcox has implemented a string of new initiatives that are changing the way legal education is taught in South Carolina. The first of these was a formal Legal Research, Analysis, and Writing (LRAW) program introduced in fall 2011. The new program is an integrated two-semester, six-hour curriculum designed to ensure students have the skills needed to be successful in law school and in the practice of law.

A day at the White House
Pam Robinson, director of the Pro Bono Program, represented the law school at a special White House ceremony recognizing the 5,000 Point of Light (you may recall that the Pro Bono Program was #444). Read her account and see pictures from her trip to the nation’s capital.
