The South Carolina Bar Foundation announces attorney J. Boone Aiken III will be joining its board of directors.
“The Foundation is excited to bring additional regional diversity to the board with the recent appointment of Boone,” said Jack D. Griffeth, Bar Foundation President.
Aiken is a senior shareholder at Aiken Bridges Elliott Tyler & Saleeby, PA in Florence. His practice focuses on litigation and he is Circuit Court mediator and arbitrator. He earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is a past president of the Florence County Bar. Aiken is a member of the S.C. Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association, the S.C. Association of Justice and Defense Research Institute. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
The South Carolina Bar Foundation, the Heart of the Bar, funds the advancement of justice by improving access, education and accountability. Since 1987, the Foundation has allocated approximately $43.8 million to various legal-related organizations that work on behalf of the justice community. Last year alone, Foundation grantees assisted more than 10,200 low income South Carolinians in need of legal services, 450 homeless men and women and 390 victims of domestic abuse.
