Solicitor wants to try Townville suspect as an adult

INDEPENDENT MAIL, 6 OCTOBER 2016, FEAT. PROF. GUPTA-KAGAN:

Anderson County prosecutors are seeking to try 14-year-old Jesse Dewitt Osborne as adult in the Sept. 28 shooting at Townville Elementary School that killed a 6-year-old boy.

Osborne has been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of the child, Jacob Hall, and his father, 47-year-old Jeffrey Osborne.

The 10th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office filed the motion Thursday to prosecute Osborne as an adult on those charges, as well as three charges of attempted murder and five charges of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Osborne is already charged as a juvenile on those offenses.
